West Coburg FC Golf Tournament

The West Coburg Football Club invites you to participate in a great day of Ambrose golf. Up to ninety golfers will get the chnace to play in the West Coburg FC Golf Tournamant on Friday 2nd March, 2012 at the prestigious Northern Golf Club, the best course north of the Yarra. Northern is located in Glenroy along the banks of the Moonee Ponds Creek. It is a premier golf venue in Melbourne's north/west. You will enjoy the challenges that this course presents in an informal environment suited to such events. West Coburg FC would be delighted if you would enter a team of 4 players in the tournament or opt to play as an individual. The cost is $110 per player for 18 holes of golf inclusive of the following program: 7:30am: Registration 8am: Shotgun Start Lunch: BBQ lunch and drinks over lunch/presentation The Club is also seeking hole sponsorship at $500 per hole. The sponsorship will include hole naming rights/signage on the tee, recognition on the Club's website and a full package for one to the club's golf day (including green fees and lunch). Sporting Uniform Grants Program 2011-12

Sporting Clubs across Victoria have the opportunity to apply for funding for sports clothing and footwear as part of the Victorian Govenment's Sporting Uniform Grants program. Up to $1000 is available to Victorian community-based clubs or organisations involved in the delivery of sporting and active recreation opportunities. There are two funding rounds in 2011-12. Funding rounf 1 closed 1 September 2011 and 275 clubs were successful in gaining funding for their uniforms. Funding Round 2 closes on 1 March 2012. Please note that to be eligible for funding, applicants must:

be non-government and not-for-profit;
be affiliated with a recognised State Sporting Association;
have not received a Sporting Uniform Grant in a funding round with a closing date within the previous twelve months;
be an incorperated body, cooperative or association (including business associations);
posses an Australian Business Number (ABN) or can provide written advice from the Australian Tax Office that no withholding tax is required from the grant payment; and
be financially solvant;

Keilor Park Fc are looking for an assistant playing coach for the senior team and a reserves coach. All enquiries should be directed to Kylie Garth on 0439 561 513.

2012 NWAFCA Seminar Series

Steven Ball has been involved in leadership development with sporting clubs for over 25 years and has worked with a number of elite sporting organisations including VFL team Coburg Tigers as well as the Port Adelaide Power where until recently he was the Team Development Manager.

Author of current AFL publication "A Season of Achievement" Steven also coached juniors at EDFL level for a number of years. Steven will take us through effective coaching principle and approaches which are applicable from junior's right through to AFL level.

Coaches should expect a challenging night with the provision of a number of immediately useable skills and though provoking discussion around the notion of building good team culture and the age old question of winning vs development.

When: Monday 26th March 2012 - 6:30pm to 8:00pm

Where: Highgate Recreation Reserve (229 Grand Boulevard, Craigieburn - Map 386 J3)

Cost: FREE for NWAFCA Members, $5 for Non Members
